Internationale oriëntatie in Eton College
In 1960, nog geen jaar na het geslaagde Appèl
Apostolaat, waren we met
een Nederlandse KAJ-delegatie te gast bij the Engelse zusterorganisatie
YCW (Young Christian
Workers) te Londen. De Beatles hadden nog niet
hun gitaren ontdekt, maar moesten nog gehoord worden, en
wij kajotters buigden ons over wereldproblemen en Europese integratie.
Op de foto's de 158 mannelijke deelnemers die in het in het rustieke
graafschap Windsor gelegen Eton College, een bijzondere verblijfplaats
genoten. Voorbij komen o.a. Per Wedell Top (Denemarken), Piju Spiteri
(Malta), Norman Rich (Engeland), Kees Bouwens (Rotterdam), Ted Vervoort
(Geleen) en vele anderen. |
Friends for life
In 1960, nearly a year after the successful Appèl Apostolate, we joined in
an Interna-tional Meeting of the English YCW in London. The Beatles were
discovering their guitars, but were not yet heard and we of the YCW tried to
find solutions for world problems.
In the photograph are 158 male participants staying in county Windsor at
Eton College. You will see Per Wedell Top (Denmark), Piju Spiteri (Malta),
Norman Rich (England), Kees Bouwens (Rotterdam), Ted Vervoort (Geleen,
Neth.) en many others.
